Hi Eduardo,
yes there is a options to disable the slider.
You just go to the dashboard -> appearance -> theme options -> featured post / page slider -> slider options(click on it)

At the top there is an options to disable the slider.
Check it to disable it.

Then this slider will not be displayed.
