Hello,

I have created child theme, now i want to add some function/short-code in child theme, if I created a function file normally its not working, I just want to know which main part i have to keep in function.php in child theme and then my function should work/override ? I have just created a simple php file as function.php in child theme and coded, Its not working, but when i m writing same code in main/parent theme folder its working….

May u please help me ?

Hi arshi4you,
You need to create a functions.php file inside your child theme not the function.php file. First unhook the main functions from the parent theme inside child theme then only customize the code. Then it will work
