Earlier this week, I updated to the latest WordPress version of 4.0.1. After that update, my entire footer section disappeared. The area in the dashboard for editing the footer is also gone. (Settings used to have a footer selection in the menu but it has also disappeared). Please help! Is there some compatibility issue? How do I correct this?
Hi melindalippert,
Yes our theme is compatible with wordpress version 4.0.1, You may face the problem because of some issues like you have customize the code or if you have customized the core wordpress file and also due to some plugins conflict. So deactivate all the plugins you have in your dashboard.
It turned out that it was a coincidence that I noticed the problem when I did the update. The root cause of this problem is that the older version of Revolution Slider allowed my site to be attacked. Right now I am unable to make the required update because it is bundled as part of the theme. Here is a background article that explains the problem. http://blog.sucuri.net/2014/12/revslider-vulnerability-leads-to-massive-wordpress-soaksoak-compromise.html
When will you have the resolution? This is having a huge impact on my business. My site is completely down and has been since early December.
