I’m not referring to the background image – I can do that in PS too. I’m referring to the slide that is positioned over it, that scrolls up and down and has text and images in it. This includes the logo, horizontal menu bar, and everything below the text “Simple, Clean and Beautiful WordPress Theme.” The slide is transparent behind those words, allowing the user to see through to the site background image.

I think I see how you did it by going into theme options -> advanced -> slogan/slider background image and setting the same image there. But that image needs to be cropped and sized correctly to match the site background image and I don’t know what the dimensions are supposed to be, nor how to crop it so the transition between slider and site background images is seamless as in your demo site.
Here is what I’m talking about: site image I got the parallax slide background working, but it does not match up with the site background.
