When I upload the featured image for my home page(front page) which is 1440×400 and 187kb, after it’s uploaded it’s 429kb.
Why is this happening and how can I stop it. 429 is way to big!

I just went into the folder were the images were stored and downloaded the ones that were larger and fixed and uploaded back up.
