Theme Horse

In reviewing plugin options, what we ideally like to do is add a login and password box to the top header of our home page. This login would direct customers to a custom portal we have set up. Do you have a recommendation on how to proceed? If your recommendation is still a plug in, can you please give me an example? The plugins I searched for this morning brought me to custom wordpress login page which is not what I want.
