Yes it will display on home and blog page. Go to dashboard -> settings -> reading -> select static page and leave blank to post page.
Then again goto specific page and at the right side select template page to blog image large.

Hi Karl,
Please create any/blog page and at the right side of the page near about publish/ update there is a page template. Click on dropdown and select blog image large. Remember page template will not be displayed on blog page. If you are using interface theme then it must show page template section.
