I have tried everything so far in these installation support questions.But I can’t find out how to download from my downloads. All I see is Ambition-pro (710 KB) and when I open it, it is a series of folders. No zip files to be found. I know I’m missing something here, but it’s not as easy as you describe in your installation instructions.

Whatever you download Ambition-pro(720kb) is itself a zip file. If you open it then it will open it as a folder. Whatever you download install it from your dashboard -> appearance -> themes-> add new
