ThomasSorry but I don’t get the logic that free versions are made easy to update but premium ones like Interface Pro that we pay for have to be done manually. And you mention uploading the zip file; I assume this is done through FTP access using a program like Filezilla. But I no longer have FTP access… And the idea of switching a theme, deleting the old one and uploading the new version sounds pretty risky. What if the new version doesn’t load or work properly. And isn’t there a risk of things getting messed up by switching themes back and forth?! I use other themes on my other sites and they have easy updates over WordPress without having to upload files or switch themes. What you propose is not standard nor what ones expects from a paid for premium theme. As a customer, I am very dissatisfied!
