@James Code customization can be complex as it is not a best practice to directly edit the theme file as you will lose the changes when you update the theme file. You can try this plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/ultimate-posts-widget/. You can use this widget in the business sidebar (set the options to show the post title only, only 1 number of post and to order by date). Try it out and see if this helps.
