I cannot create a new slider template or a slider. I can enter a Slider Title (home slide) and an Slider Alias (home slide) but the Slider Shortcode box remains greyed out and I cannot enter anything. Consequently the Create Slider green button remains ineffective. I cannot save any settings.

@Grafixer This might also be a plugin conflict. Try deactivating your other active plugins one by one and see if this solves the issue. You can go through these videos http://www.themepunch.com/codecanyon/revolution_wp/liveguide/02.video.html

The videos you sent the links for are not much use. They are silent fast moving images. However I did deactivate the last plug in and that seemed to solve the issue. Is that means, that I cannot re-activate that plug in any more?

As a follow up question: now that I have the picture holder on my home page, can I move it above all the text? In other words, I would like if the image would be right under the Main Menu almost budding to the headers. How can that be done?

@Grafixer Yes if the deactivating the plugin solved the issue then you will have to find other alternatives/plugins for the same purpose.
About the second issue, In the slider settings there is Appearance and Position options. Please try adjusting that and see if this solves the issue. If you can provide us the your site link then I may be provide you better support.
