I’d like to customize the Gallery 4-column template to allow text in two locations:

(1) On the Parent Gallery page – so I can explain how the photos are organized. Any text typed in the Page Editor text box doesn’t show up.

(2) Can I add a description to the individual Galleries? Again, any text I type into the Page Editor text box doesn’t show up. Ideally, I’d swap the name of the Gallery for a short description in the slideshow.

Is this possible? Really like the look of the Gallery format but need to provide more information to clients. Or is there a better template to do this with and still have access to the Gallery Slideshow and category tagging? Thanks for your help!

@lisa About the question 1) Currently there is no option, you will have to make the necessary customization to add text directly in the theme file. The function that you will have to edit is attitude_display_gallery_four_column_content. This function in located in content-extensions.php file ( theme folder->library folder->structure folder). You may also need to hire a customizer to make changes if you are not familiar with coding.

Question 2) Similarly to above this will also need customization. As we have designed our theme to just show the images in fancy box view and not to show any description of it that you add for the gallery post. For this it will be better to try a gallery plugins like http://wordpress.org/plugins/nextgen-gallery/screenshots/. You can search for others as well that will be suitable to your needs.
