Hi guys,
I was checking my theme on WP and noticed an error came up:
“Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.
Name Description
__MACOSX Stylesheet is missing”I’m running version 1.7 of Clean Retina Premium on that site http://www.charmsandbracelet.com. I also have another site http://www.theburgernerd.com which I’m still running version 1.5 and no error appears for that version.
Why is this error warning showing up for version 1.7?
Thanks,
Trevor

We are not facing this error. Once you activate the default wordpress theme and check it whether the error occurs or not. I think the file for this site http://www.charmsandbracelet.com, you don’t have all the files. So once again download the fresh theme and upload it. Whether this cause the error or not.
Once install the fresh wordpress dashboard too.Thank you!
November 21, 2014 at 6:51 am #18698theburgernerdMemberHi Guys,
Thanks for getting back to me. I tried your suggestion, downloaded a fresh copy of 1.7. Erased all traces of it, then reinstalled the theme. Same error occurs. I have all the same plugins for charmsandbracelet.com as I do on theBurgerNerd.com However, the burger nerd does not show this error because I’m running it with version 1.5. I have now installed a clean version of 1.5 on charms and bracelet and the error is no longer there.
Also, I have caching, parsing, and minifying plugins for my websites. Would this cause a false positive reading? Except for the broken theme warning, the website seems to be working fine with version 1.7. I haven’t noticed a loss of function. However, my big concern is that search bots would read this error (whether false or real) as a broken website, or broken pages and posts and then rank my website lower.
I also noticed in the themes section of my files it installs a separate _MACOSX file. I don’t know much about MACOSX, but in terms of this theme what exactly does it do? Apple/Windows compatibility? Should that file be located within the actual Clean Retina theme file and not as a separate file itself? I’m not sure, like I said I don’t know much about MACOSX files but I just find it strange that I get no errors using 1.5 but get the broken theme error when using 1.7.
Thanks again for your time and for looking into this matter.
Regards,
Trevor
November 21, 2014 at 9:24 am #18703Theme Horse Support TeamKeymasterHi theburgernerd,
We are also new on the error what you have send to us. On the version 1.6 we have just deactivate the update notifier error which does not effect the other code and functions. We have comment it for getting error fixed in the dashboard only. and on the version 1.7 we just updated only the revolution slider nothing then that. You may check the readme.txt file what we have updated in our latest version.Once you just unzip the folder and upload it from ftp and first make clear that is there any _MACOSX file or folder. This is for the mac. If this file is present then delete it and upload it from the ftp.
If you found the same issue then once please send your temporary username and password. We will try to fix it.
Thank you!

Thanks for the info regarding the _MACOSX file. I tried you suggestion of removing the file upon installation and it seemed to clear up the error.
Thank you for your help with this.
