Hi Guys, I need some help.
I got my site up and running (www.ohwc.org.uk). Because I have a members area I wanted an SSL connection. Due to a misuderstanding with the hosting company the SSL certificate was applied to secure.ohwc.org.uk and they can’t move it to http://www.ohwc.org.uk without me buying a new certificate (£150).
So in General Settings I set the wordpress address as htpps://secure.ohwc.org.uk and the site address as http://www.ohwc.org.uk. I am now laboriously going through changing the embedded URLs to point to ‘secure’ and for the ones I have changed I get a secure connection – I’m using HTTPS as the plugin.
The difficulty I am having is with the Primary Menu. I am unable to change or work out how to change the parent/child URLs. I have tried deleting the menu and recreating it but it hasn’t repointed the URLs to ‘secure’.
Any ideas on how I repoint the menu?
Many thanks
James
Thanks for the response. As soon as I started to read it I realised I was looking in the wrong direction. I still getting up to speed with WP and themes and the boundaries.
As soon as I changed the Site Address to https://secure.ohwc.org it fixed the menu. I then did a 301 redirect from the http to the https address and yippy, it was all working as I wanted.
