Hello,
I managed to get the slider working on my site, but beyond that I am stumped. I don’t know which buttons to press, which fields to fill out, or how to make it all work together.
Here’s what I have right now with my site:

Here’s what I want (created in Photoshop):

Can you give me some tips on what to do?

You can first view our demo site. https://www.themehorse.com/preview/ultimate-pro/
To set as in our demo site you need to go to the theme instruction. Just follow this below link. Here we have defined how to set slider, business layout etc.

Thank you!

Here are some things I didn’t see covered in them:
-
On your home page, how do you have the text “Simple, Clean and Beautiful Flat WordPress Theme” above your main slider? I do not know how to enable the slider and then place separate text above it. When I enable the slider it becomes the home page (e.g., my original home page is no longer displayed).
Update:
I just played around with the business theme widgets and I can see they are for the featured areas beneath the slider that say “ELEGANT DESIGN,” “RESPONSIVE DESIGN,” etc. You know it would be really helpful to include in the instructions what these widgets do so the user isn’t left experimenting. My wife was confused why I was having such a difficult time with your theme. I told her that it was like driving a car, only you have a 2-page incomplete instruction manual. Instead of a gas and break pedal, you have 10 pedals. Each pedal has a label, but the labels don’t tell you what they DO. You got 5 steering wheels and you’ve no idea which one actually steers the car. And the a/c controls have like 20 knobs – again, each with a label that doesn’t tell you what each knob actually does. So you suffer in the heat (because you can’t figure out how to turn on the a/c) and fiddle with the controls of the car. Eventually you get it to MOVE, but can’t steer the stupid thing.
Your “instructions” are laughable. Your theme is awesome – I can see it has all sorts of customizations and bells and whistles, but your instructions need a lot of help. Maybe those with a lot of experience can get what they need from the instructions, but casual WordPress users like myself might be left in the lurch.

When I moved the PromoBox widget from above the services widget to below, it shifted on the website. I didn’t have to “save” my settings or anything – just moved it to under the services widget and refreshed the website and BAM – changed. That’s an example of detail missing from the instructions. Pretty cool feature!
May 14, 2015 at 3:43 pm #24901DaleParticipantOkay – question: How do I get the promo widget to display above my slider? It seems the business page widgets all function beneath it. I believe you used a promo widget with the same background image as the slider (which has the same image as the site background) for the text above the slider.

Go to dashbaord -> appearance -> theme options-> advance options-> home slogan options and you can have your text as in our demo site. View this screenshot. (for home page slogan above or below the slider)

If you are still confused then you may send your temporary username and password at Email, we will set your home page as in our demo site.
Thank you!
May 15, 2015 at 3:39 pm #24922DaleParticipantThanks! I’ve used options in the Advanced menu and never noticed that. I’m considering writing a tutorial for others like myself who are struggling with this theme. If that happens I’ll post a link.
Best,
