Using Clean Retina, the General settings’ site title is duplicated as visible at
http://dvaginginplace.org/wp/

How can I eliminate this duplication?

Hi Baker,

It’s not a duplicate title you have set the menu name as the same page title.
Change the menu name to different name other wise to remove the heading Go to Appearance -> Theme Options -> Design Options Tab -> Custom CSS paste the following CSS code and Click on save all changes button:

.page-id-2.page-template-default .entry-header {
    display: none;
}
