Would it be possible to have a customization to exclude all posts from specific categories from appearing on the main blog page?

I would like to pipe specific post categories to appear on their own pages and not the main blog page.

I understand how I can get specific categories on a page but I am not sure how I can exclude those categories from the main blog page.
