The homepage slider is showing up on both our homepage and the blog page. It is not showing up on any of the other pages. We want it to show up on the homepage, but not the blog page. Any idea why it is showing up on the blog page? That doesn’t seem to be the functionality. Any ideas on how/why this might be happening?

did you add any plugin or any custom code ? if you added plugin then once deactivate it and check one by one. The slider must display only in home page or the front page not in the other page.
If still you found no solution the please send your temporary username and password we will have a look it.
Thank youMay 29, 2014 at 4:25 am #10722IcedQuickParticipantI have the same problem if I enable:
Settings > Reading Settings > Front page displays > Posts Page: Blog (the page I have for listing all my blogs).
When that setting is left blank, the slider does not show up on the blog page. However it then lists all blog posts in full (i.e. not just excerpts and summaries to click through to the actual post).
May 29, 2014 at 6:47 pm #10757dedicatedmanagerParticipantSupport Team – I disabled all the plugins, but am still having the issue. We have not customized the code in any way. How do I send you the username/login? Is there a private way to send a message?
IcedQuick – Under Settings>Reading>FrontPageDisplays I have “A static Page” is selected and the “Front Page” is set to my a page called “Home” and the “Posts Page” is set to a page called “News and Blog”. If I set “Posts Page” to the blank “–select–“, I no longer have a blog feed anywhere?!
Thanks,

Thanks for the response support… but if I leave the “Posts Page” as default (–select–) then I lose my blog! How do I tell your theme what page to put the blog on if I don’t set this option to the page I want my blog to appear on?
June 27, 2014 at 5:59 am #11687Theme Horse Support TeamKeymasterHi dedicatedmanager,
If you want to display blog to appear on front page then you select from
Settings > Reading Settings > Front page displays > Your latest posts
This will display your blog at landing page. i.e. home pageThank you!
June 27, 2014 at 9:31 pm #11717dedicatedmanagerParticipantSorry I must not have been clear. I don’t want my homepage to be the posts page. I want to set a page called “blog” to be my posts page. But you are telling me that I have to have the Posts Page as “–select–“, which means I can’t have a blog page.
Again, my goal is to have the Homepage slider work on the homepage, which it is currently doing. I also have my blog on a page called “blog” and the homepage slider is showing up on that page. You told me to set the posts page like this “Settings > Reading Settings > Posts Page: leave it default ( –select –)”, but if I do so, wordpress doesn’t know where to show my blog as “Posts Page” needs to be set to my “blog” for my blog to show up.
June 28, 2014 at 2:57 pm #11734Theme Horse Support TeamKeymasterYou mean to display only the blog page in home page ? Yes home page slider will work fine if you select the posts page too. OK no problem if you want to display your blog page then you may select the blog page as a front page. We have three blog page. You may select any one of it from the template at right side of page. (blog image large, blog image medium and full content)
If you want to display particular blog on the front page according to category then its not possible. We have designed our theme this way. Latest post will be displayed accordingly.
Thank you!
June 30, 2014 at 4:58 pm #11795dedicatedmanagerParticipantSorry again for the confusion, but your response is not helping me solve the issue. It’s likely again my fault as above, I’m calling the “featured posts/page slider” the “homepage slider” which is the incorrect term and I think that’s confusing our conversation.
To recap:
-
I want the Featured Posts/Page Slider to show up on the Homepage.
I do NOT want the Featured Posts/Page Slider to show on the blog page.
I do NOT want the blog on the home page. I want the blog on another page named “Blog”.Thank you.
TerryJuly 1, 2014 at 6:37 am #11805Theme Horse Support TeamKeymasterHi

dashboard -> reading -> front page -> home and leave post page -> as default (–select–)Then this will display slider in your home page with business template as in our demo.

July 1, 2014 at 6:14 pm #11818dedicatedmanagerParticipantThis was the help I needed:
You want to display a blog with no slider. Its fine create a page (and select the template blog image medium or large or full fonctent yo want.) and choose the template below update/publish .
I just needed to know how to tell wordpress to turn a page into a blog page if I was setting “Settings > Reading Settings > Posts Page: leave it default ( –select –)”
Thanks for your continued support!
terryJuly 2, 2014 at 11:14 am #11840Theme Horse Support TeamKeymasterWe have created the template for blog page. So you no need to worry about it. from setting -> readings -> post page.
This is for the home page / front page only not the other page.
according to you
Settings > Reading Settings > Posts Page: leave it default ( –select –)”
==> after selecting any page it will display at front page / home page only not in the inner page. To display in blog page (not in home page) you just do first what i told on the above support. Still confusion then sent username and password at [email protected]Please send the url of your site too.
We will go through it.
Thank you!
July 10, 2014 at 3:10 pm #12040dedicatedmanagerParticipantI guess I wasn’t fully clear in my previous post… I’ve got it all figured out! I just needed that piece of information I quoted in my last post to help me put it all together.
Thanks again!
