I would like to have the home page act like the others with the orange banner or have the option to put in any picture or text in that specific position.

I have read through the help pages but I have not managed to get things right. Thank you for your support!

Also how can I get the menu in top of the header picture?

Hi Fredrik,
This orange banner is not available in home page and in front page. We have designed this way so you need code customisation for it.We recommended not to change the code because if you change the code then while updating to our new version all your customisation code will be lost. So better make child theme and first unhook the functions and the edit the code.
