Hello there,
How can I change the height of my image slider (1)? The height is just too high. I’m using a child theme and I managed to add the style.css file, but not yet the functions.php file as I don’t know what code to put in (2). Can you help with this as well please?
I know there are some other topics regarding this subject – but not for Ambition Pro theme.
May 19, 2016 at 3:47 pm #44976MoniqueParticipantHello,
Any help with this one as well (since you’ve helped me with my other topics)? Thanks!!May 20, 2016 at 6:50 am #44992Theme Horse Support TeamKeymasterHi Monique,
To reduce the height go to Appearance -> Customize -> Ambition Theme Options -> Custom CSS and paste the below CSS code then click on save button.
.featured-slider .featured-image { padding: 10% 0; }
Thank you!

December 2, 2016 at 12:36 am #48500WebmasterParticipantI would also like to reduce the image height for the images in the slider on my website. In fact, I would like to set the image size for the slider the same as you recommend for your header images, 1170×300. I see in the thread above that you have offered some custom code to insert in the CSS. But I don’t see in that code where the image size for the slider is set. And I’m not sure where you would insert these lines of code in the overall CSS file. Could you elaborate on that? Thanks.
December 2, 2016 at 6:06 am #48511Theme Horse Support TeamKeymasterHi Jeffrey,
You add image slider size in custom css. Go to Dashboard -> Appearance -> Customize -> Ambition Theme Options -> Custom CSS and paste the custom css.Adding custom css here will overwrite the default ambition-pro css.
Thank youDecember 2, 2016 at 7:19 am #48515WebmasterParticipantThanks for that information, but I’m still unsure of some things.
The code you suggested above was:
.featured-slider .featured-image {
padding: 10% 0;
}Where does the information setting the size go in that line of code?
And where exactly in the CSS file should the additional lines of code be inserted? Do this replace another line that begins “.featured-sider …” or is this in addition to the lines of code that are already in the CSS file?December 2, 2016 at 9:30 pm #48526WebmasterParticipantOK, I see where the code is added from the dashboard. If you add code through this method, does it stay in place through any theme updates, or must it be added again after an update occurs?
And, the big question, where in that code is the size of the slider photos set?
I am having trouble getting my slider to work. I have three photos loaded in the image slider, but it’s not rotating from image to image. It’s just static on the home page.
You can see the site at http://www.opcaaw.com/wordpress/
Thanks.
JeffDecember 4, 2016 at 7:19 pm #48554WebmasterParticipantOK, I have more on this issue. There are two things I wish to resolve with my slider on my website: http://www.opcaaw.com/wordpress/
First of all, while I’ve been able to change the size of the slider image using the CSS code you provided, the theme is cropping the images that I’ve loaded into the slider instead of allowing them to display full size. The full size of the image is the size I want the slider image to be.
The second issue has to do with the operation of the slider itself. The first slide shows in the slider and does not change. There is no rotation of images. The settings in the customize > featured content settings are:
Slider type: Image Slider
Slider status: home page
Slider content: on
Transition effect: Fade
Transition delay 4
Transition duration: 1
Featured text position Left
No of slides: 3Images are loaded in the slider for all three slides.
What am I doing wrong?
December 5, 2016 at 11:44 am #48580Theme Horse Support TeamKeymasterHi Jeffrey,
There is no any recommended size for the slider. Actually image are not cropped in the slider. We have designed the slider image display this way to 100% to cover your whole display screen.
Set the large Image as you like to support for the large display or you can set a small size image too however set the same image size for all the slider.About not rotation of the slider did you customize any code of the theme? It seems that you have? If not there may be plugin conflict also so deactivate the plugin one by one and check.
If you have any problem then let us know.
Thank you!
December 12, 2016 at 12:07 am #48666WebmasterParticipantSorry, I have been recovering from surgery for about a week now and was not able to re-engage on this topic.
In response to this suggestion, I deactivated both plug ins that I was using. One is a calendar plug in, and one is a photo gallery plug in. I definitely need to use the calendar application; I can probably find an alternative photo gallery if that is causing the conflict. However, after deactivating both and reloading the home page, the slider is still not rotating among the images I have loaded. So the problem does not appear to be a plug in conflict.
I did install one piece of CSS code that you gave me to try earlier to set the size of the slider image. That code is:
.featured-slider .featured-image {
padding: 10% 0;
}
I removed that and reloaded the home page, but the slider still does not rotate.Finally, you said that the theme code does not crop the images in the slider. That is not what I’m seeing on my site. I am adding some screen captures so you can see how the image is shown on my home page and also how that image is loaded into my media library. It’s definitely being cropped somewhere.
Here is a link to the screen shots, which I have placed in a Dropbox folder for you: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8u85h4o46hyyt8g/AACezgcrgutbuhCS5GZ7Udgsa?dl=0
Please let me know if you can figure out why my slider is cropping the images and why it is not rotating between the images. Thanks for your assistance.

Is someone working on this issue?
If I can’t get the slider to work, is there a way to create a static home page header image without requiring all other web pages on the site to have a page header image?
Please let me know.
Jeff BrodyDecember 16, 2016 at 4:35 pm #48729Theme Horse Support TeamKeymasterHi Jeffrey,
