Hello,
I am having difficulty obtaining a header that includes both a logo and our business name. I first tried to create a custom logo+business name+business phrase image at an image size of 1440×300 pixels (I saw that recommended somewhere). I set this as the “Custom Header” image and chose “Header Logo only”. It was huge and looked quite bad on the site.
I then wanted to try using the “text only” header option and insert only our logo to the left of the header text, but haven’t managed to figure out how. From other posts, it looks like I will have to edit the php, which I’m willing to do, but would like some pointers. I am already using a child theme. Could you point me towards the function that I would have to edit to add this image and what I should add?
This is the website, I want to add a square image to the left of our business name in the header: http://www.owentutoring.com
Thank you!

Could you provide some more details on how to do this? As I mentioned in my first post, I tried to do that initially, using a 1440×300 pixels image (recommended in the comments in the php code) and setting my header to “Custom Header”. It was blown up huge and took took up a lot of the screen and was centered horizontally (it wasn’t restricted to that left corner like the screenshot that you linked to). What are the recommended dimensions for the image and how to I achieve getting the logo in that position in the theme settings?

First Create a logo with appropriate width. Do not use 1440X300 size this size is for custom header and will show 100% with your site width which is for custom header image option and not for logo. You have to choose Header logo option to show you logo as shown in this screenshot
Thank you!

What is the “appropriate width” to use?

You can use as your need. Max size is 978px
Thank you!
September 13, 2015 at 1:41 am #28194mruthvenParticipantI can’t get my logo to appear. I did the following:
Appearance > Theme Options > Design Options > Custom Header, Browsed to my logo file, clicked Header Logo Only, clicked Save All Changes
Looking at Design Options > Custom Header, the path to the logo file is displayed to the right of Header Logo
Any ideas?

Did you mean WordPress plugins or browser plugins?
– How cou;d WP plugins make the site appear one way in your browser and another way in my browser?
– It appears the same here in Firefox, IE, and Chrome.
I’ve tried to show a screenshot.

It seems that you have not used our theme so please ask to the main author of the theme.
Thank you!
