message child theme needs updating

Hi –
I just updated Attitude Pro to 1.9.
I’m using a child theme for it –
and have (even before the update) been getting a message “update attitudeprochildtheme, you have 1.2, latest is 1.5”.

In the child theme’s style.css I tried changing the version from 1.2 to 1.5 and it seems to work – is this the way to fix it, or is there a better way?! I don’t get that message any more, but it doesn’t seem like the best way to do this.
