Hello

I upgraded to the Pro version of Ambition yesterday, having previously used the free version.

But, on switching the site to the Pro version, the words ‘Read more’ disappeared from every place they previously appeared on the home page.

That means that in some places there’s just a blank space where ‘Read more’ should be. Where there’s a button that should say ‘Read more’ it’s reduced to minimum size, and is empty.

In Ambition Theme Options > Excerpt Options > Post Excerpt More Text ‘Read more’ is there. If I type in some other words, nothing happens.

Because of this I have reverted the site to the free version of Ambition, which still works fine, and shows ‘Read more’ in all the right places.

Can you tell me how to fix the problem in the Pro version?

Hi Russ,

It seems that you have removed the excerpt text to blank so that read more button is not displaying. Please add some text to display read more button.

If you don’t need some readmore on specific section then we can provide you some custom css. Please let us know.

We also check from our end and there is no any issue in our theme. Could you please Email Us us your temporary username and password. We will look into it.

I know it may seem that I have removed the excerpt text, but I have not. The problem appeared as soon as I installed the Pro version, before I had even looked at the theme options.

As I said in my original message, “In Ambition Theme Options > Excerpt Options > Post Excerpt More Text ‘Read more’ is there. If I type in some other words, nothing happens.”

It’s kind of you to offer some custom CSS to remove the ‘Read more’ message, but that is not what I want. I want the ‘Read more’ message to appear everywhere possible.

I have now reverted the site to the free version, and ‘Read more’ has reappeared everywhere.

As you suggest, I will email you with a temporary WP login name and password, so that you can investigate the problem closely.

Have you discovered the reason why the Read More button was reduced to just the outline? It is happening to me also. If I activate YOAST plugin, the Read More button appears, when I Deactivate the plugin, it disappears again.

The first widget should show the Read More button but you will only see the outline. If I activate the YOAST plugin, it appears again.

It seems there is some interference between the theme and YOAST. Any idea?

Seems like it’s a weird problem.
Can you please deactivate all the activated plugins one by one. It may be conflict with some plugin.

I does something to do with YOAST plugin. If YOAST is deactivated, the button is empty. If YOAST is activated, the button appears normally.

Hi,

I have exported the .po file for the widgets and there is only 1 string as you can see:

# wpml-name: widget title – c876b8af80415e23d8311a868aa753cb
msgid “Fields of Activity”
msgstr “Áreas de Actividad”

However, if you try the site https://www.darrera.com/wp would see that when changing the language, the string doesn’t get translated at all.

All other strings in widgets does not appear in the String Translation page of WPML.
