The right side bar appears below and not to the right… I tried the narrow and the wide layout, the problem is the same, any hint?

Hi, if you choose the one column, no sidebar layout then the sidebar will not be shown. Please check on it in Appearance->Theme Options->Default layout options. Also, check in the same post in the dashboard for the ‘layout’ option.
