Free version. No child theme. WP version is 3.9.2 Customizations have been done but all using CSS.

Spot the standard “Archive” widget (on the home page) and try to use it. After selecting something you will find yourself back to the home page again. That is not good.

Also. If trying the same from some post, one is “pushed” again back to the home page? That is even worse.

What gives?

ps: ThemeHorse tag cloud bellow also does not behave. It shows few posts for tag selected but not all of them. It seems the older ones are ignored.

If I use the [archive] short code (like here: http://dbj.org/dbj/archives/) it works with default setting which is “postbypost” … but it does not work for any othe type “yearly”,”monthly” …etc.

As before by “does not work” I mean: home page is displayed after selecting anything from the archive.

Found the culprit: SEO Yoast plugin

Solution: SEO Yoast plugin settings
Goto: “Titles & Metas” – “Other”
On this page goto section “Date Archives” and uncheck “Disable the date-based archives”.

That does the trick ..

It seems the famous “WordPress SEO by Yoast” is steadily going downhill in both quality and support …

I have uninstalled it.
