ParticipantI’ve figured out all my pages except the home page and keep running in to trouble. Any help would be appreciated.
1. The site that caused me to buy Interface was One Rule Investing http://www.ruleoneinvesting.com
2. They’ve placed two images at the top of the home page. One similar to a full width slider and then an image of media companies underneath it, both with no borders. So, how can I insert an image in the business template? I tried an image widget but that didn’t work.
3. How can I reduce the border to 0 so the image abuts to the top header? I’m still seeing a lot of space between the revolution slider and the header/nsv bar.
4. On the One Rule Investing Site, they’ve imported three posts to run under the top two images. I’ve tried using your widgets and can’t seem to make that happen. So, how can I import let’s say my last five blog posts with the image, title and some text with the read more tag like they did?
5. Finally, I’m playing with this on a test site (www.OptimumPreaching.com) and I’ve made several changes to the revolution slider that you’ll see at the top, but none of the changes take place. I’ve cleared caches and restarted browsers and still, I keep getting the same old slider settings showing (for ex. right now there’s no shadow, no moving timer, etc.) but that’s not what you see. So, how can I make changes and see them without having to clear caches, restart browsers etc. 20% of the time that works, 80% it doesn’t. And I’ve used Safari, Firefox and Chrome.
By the way, I don’t need to use the slider. I just want one image at the top (full width would be best). If that helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantI’ve figured out several of these. The biggest problem I still have is how to add recent blog posts to on the home page. In the theme options I’ve selected the blog categories to “display on the homepage” however, i can’t figure out how to make that happen. What’s the secret?
Thanks!

I apologize that I wasn’t clear. I wanted to add the blog posts to the business template as the homepage, not just have the blog posts (i.e. I want to have a full width slider at the top and blog posts underneath it). I finally found a plugin that displays the posts. Not exactly the way i’d like them (a la wwww.ruleoneinvesting.com) but close enough to get started.
Thanks
Bruce
P.S. It seems that others have had a similar question (how to add blog posts to the business template). Any change you’ll add that as a plugin/widget in an upcoming version?

KeymasterHi sergioburlamaqui,
You cannot add blog using the business template as the home page. We have designed our theme this way. It needs code customization and you need to hire a developer to fix it.
Thank you!

Obviously, this is your theme and you can do whatever you want with it. That said, there are several requests in this support section asking for an option to add recent blog posts to the home page (using the business template). Most of the big themes offer this option. So, hopefully, in the future, you’ll add this as an option (personally, I prefer the vertical option, but most themes seem to offer the horizontal version since it fits the row concept).
Finally, the workaround that I used was finding a plugin to accomplish this. For other Interface Pro users, the plugin is called, Special Recent Posts FREE. I just played with some of the settings until I found something that looked like what I was looking for. You can see it in use on my site at http://www.WIredToGrow.com. Hope that helps.

Thank you! I love the design, ease and simplicity of this theme. It took a little while to figure out the homepage piece, but now that I have (and figured out the blog piece of that :-), I love it. Plus, one of the things I wanted to solve was the speed issue. My site used to have a ranking of between 600-800,000 on Alexa. As soon as I moved to a more intricate theme (Salient), my ranking went down to 2.5M (within a week or two) and slowly went down to 6,000,000. Within the first three days of using Interface Pro, my Alexa rating (that’s in 3 days), has bumped up 2M spots and a lot of that I’m guessing has to do with speed. I’ve gone from “slower than 80% of tested websites” to FASTER than 85% of tested websites” on pingdom. So thank you!
