I have been using Interface pro since 2014. I am not a webdesigner or computer expert, just a layman. Formerly I also had some HTML sites I maged using FTP access using FileZilla. I changed my server 18 months ago and am no longer able to get FTP access. My site is running Interface pro 1.01.I had managed a later update formerly when I still had FTP access but it didn’t work so I had to keep using version 1.01. Now I pay for support and you give downloads. I currently have 3.04 stored on my computer but have no access to update on my server. This seems a totally unneccsssary step. Other themes are updated directly and easily over wordpress directly. I cannot understand why a wordpress theme cannot be updated over workdpress?! Or is there a way? I don’t want to use bad language but paying for support and then failing have updates available over WP seems out of the question. Is there a solution?

    Hi Thomas,

You can easily directly update the free WordPress directory themes but for the premium themes which are not listed on WordPress directory you need to update it manually.
To update the theme to the latest version first activate any other themes than delete the previous version of Interface Pro theme and then upload the new version of Interface Pro (.zip) file that you have downloaded on your computer and activate it.

Note: If you have customize the theme main code then make sure first you backup it before deleting the previous version from your site.

    Thank you!

Sorry but I don’t get the logic that free versions are made easy to update but premium ones like Interface Pro that we pay for have to be done manually. And you mention uploading the zip file; I assume this is done through FTP access using a program like Filezilla. But I no longer have FTP access… And the idea of switching a theme, deleting the old one and uploading the new version sounds pretty risky. What if the new version doesn’t load or work properly. And isn’t there a risk of things getting messed up by switching themes back and forth?! I use other themes on my other sites and they have easy updates over WordPress without having to upload files or switch themes. What you propose is not standard nor what ones expects from a paid for premium theme. As a customer, I am very dissatisfied!

    Hi Thomas,

    Sorry for inconvenience.

We are trying to implement update feature system but as of our huge store data it takes time to implement those update features.
There will be no any risk while switching a theme, deleting the old one and uploading the new version. Once you activated/delete any theme the theme data will not be lost. However, if you want to update to the new version without deleting existing activated version just activate this plugin and follow the instruction below:

    1. Go to Appearance > Themes.
    2. Click on the ADD NEW button.
    3. Click on the UPLOAD THEME button.
    4. Click BROWSE and choose the zip file that you have downloaded from your account via our site.
    5. Click the INSTALL NOW button.

    Thank you!

Help, this method did NOT work. I get a message (translated from German which is the site’s primary language) that the installation doesn’t work because there is already a file called internet-pro – and there is no way to change the name of the target file…
