Hi,

I just purchased the pro theme.

I have already the ambition free theme running and customized to my needs.

Will I lose images/texts/links I have set up in the Ambition Free Business Page Layout (Frontpage)
when upgrading? How do you recommend to upgrade the theme?

Hi Amir,

If you haven’t customized any php or css code from the theme folder then no worry. You will not loose anything while upgrading to ambition pro. As our free theme is compatible with the pro theme.
Goto dashboard -> appearance -> themes -> add ambition-pro.zip theme and activate it.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Now I upgraded and activated the pro theme BUT UNFORTUNATELY LOST ALL configurations I made to the landing page using
the Business Layout.

This should not happen.

How can I prevent that?

When I switch back to Ambition Free, all Links & Featured Pages are there.

Why don’t they show up when activating the pro?

Everything I edited in the “Business Page Section” of the Page is gone when switching to Ambition Pro.

Hi Amir,

It means that you have customized some code on php file OR you have activated ambition pro theme before settings “Business Page Section” in free version. Free theme data/contents are only compatible for the first time you activate the pro theme. After that the setting for Widgets/Sidebar for free and pro version will be individually set. So that you have to drag and drop again for the pro version.

Hi again,

I don’t fully get what that means.

1) I have set the “Business page section” in Ambition free.
2) I have purchased the pro theme (yesterday)
3) I uploaded and activated pro as you suggested (Goto dashboard -> appearance -> themes -> add ambition-pro.zip theme and activate it.)
4) Changes I made in the (Ambition Free) don’t show in business page section of ambition pro

What do you suggest?

Shall I switch back to Ambition Free (all changes are still there)
remove the ambition pro theme and re-install it again?

Hi Amir,

Switching changes will take only effect for the first time only. So no removing the ambition pro theme and also reactivating the theme will not solve the issues because the settings for ambition pro is already setup in your data base. So the only way is you need to drag and drop all the widgets that you have added in your free version. We are sorry for the issues you got.

One thing you can do is download this plugins for widgets importer and exporter. Install this plugins in your dashboard and activate Ambition Free theme. Export the widgets using widget importer plugins. View below screenshot.

Similarly, activate the theme ambition-pro and import the widgets content using the same plugins.
