OK! So, my problem was that I was using 1.1.4. Once I updated to 1.1.8, I found the string translations in Polylang. Thanks for the reminder to update my theme!
I wrote this question 2 years ago, and you promised a “quick fix”. I’m (ahem) still waiting. Please, guys, how do I provide translation to the banners in this theme?
