I have changed the above code and has now worked 🙂 I don’t remember changing the css code to the values above however my friend was working on it in the past so maybe it was his doing thanks.

I have tried changing my site navigation colours to white text on black background with blue hover.

I cant make the active/selected link and parent items highlight in blue.

I’ve been trying for days to get it right.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
