Help, this method did NOT work. I get a message (translated from German which is the site’s primary language) that the installation doesn’t work because there is already a file called internet-pro – and there is no way to change the name of the target file…

Sorry but I don’t get the logic that free versions are made easy to update but premium ones like Interface Pro that we pay for have to be done manually. And you mention uploading the zip file; I assume this is done through FTP access using a program like Filezilla. But I no longer have FTP access… And the idea of switching a theme, deleting the old one and uploading the new version sounds pretty risky. What if the new version doesn’t load or work properly. And isn’t there a risk of things getting messed up by switching themes back and forth?! I use other themes on my other sites and they have easy updates over WordPress without having to upload files or switch themes. What you propose is not standard nor what ones expects from a paid for premium theme. As a customer, I am very dissatisfied!

I don’t understand how the fact that I pay for Interface Pro should mean that it won’t be updated automatically??? Paying should mean good support which means making things simple. It’s confusing when I am logged in at my WP site and it says there are no theme updates although there is. I had this hassle before and managed to update the theme and although I had exported all of my revolution sliders I could not import them again. The statement that they will not be lost is false. There were backed up and visible in a file but when I tried to import them there was an error message saying there were no sliders in the file. The import function could not recognize the sliders and all of the data was lost. I have other issues with revolution slider but it is also has a new version in this theme update so maybe that will solve them. Any yes, my site has lots of custom settings so it is very annoying to have to try to reset them all. The most important thing is lack of instruction on HOW to manually update. Does one upload the new theme data to the server and then delete the old version(s) there? I have already uploaded the latest Interface pro version but WP doesn’t seem to be finding it. Or is one supposed to first delete the old theme version and then upload the new one? The order sounds critical to not losing data but I see no explanation. The standard information I see given on this site is for the initial upload of the theme and NOT for an update which is obviously not the same thing! Also, I have now backed up my whole WP site. If I update the theme and want to import the customized settings then which data needs to be imported? If one would import the whole theme file then it would be putting an old version back in place which is a lot of work for nothing. Also, you state that the theme does not actually have to be updated. Hmm, then why is there an update? I understood that it was to patch vulnerabilities. I not updated, then won’t it still be vulnerable?

Help. I got an email saying the interface pro theme has an update to 1.0.6 but it is not indicated when I log in at my WP site. So I manually downloaded and unzipped it. I then uploaded it to my server space over my ftp program. But I see no indication if it is being found or not, my WP site says the version of WP and that the theme is “up to date” but doesn’t give feedback about what version is running. Should I have, or do I need to, throw away the old version on the server? If so, I would save a copy of everything but don’t understand how to reinstall things if they disappear. Earlier I had to update the revolution slider. I exported and backed up all of the sliders which got wiped out. But when I went to import them again and I got an error message that such data was not available although it was clearly in the folder. Had to redo about a month’s worth of work as most of my page is centered on the slider imagery on every page. Why can’t the themes update automatically and why should it always risk losing setting? For those of us who are not computer expert this REALLY sucks.

Most of the other plugins I use seem have frequent updates which I get notified of and can do with a single click. There is a message on the revolution slider page that recommends and offers premium support and automatic updates but asks for an api number and envato account but i don’t understand what these are? I don’t seeanything about this in the emails I got when buying teh Interface Pro nor in the downloadeded zipped folder. When I try to manually update, it doesn’t work and states soemthing about having to update over the ftp??? I don’t get what all this means?!
