No, I didn’t “set the ‘Posts page’ from Settings->Reading.”

I Followed the instructions from ” 14) How to setup Blog page ”

I created a new page, called it “Blog”, then chose “Blog Image Large”

But when I created blog posts they werent arriving on the Blog page, so i created a new category called “Blog” and assigned all my blog posts to that category and then all my blog posts showed up on the Blog page. However, so did all my slider posts even though they are not in the “blog” category, they are all in “uncategorized”

Thanks for the advice Sanjip, here are the instructions for business layout –

” You can show your homepage as business layout format as in our demo.

Create a page and choose Business Template from Template drop down.
Go to Settings->Reading settings
Choose Front Page Display ->A static Page->Front page->Choose this page
We have three custom widget especially designed for business layout home page Theme Horse:Services,Theme Horse:Featured widget and Theme Horse: Testimonial
Go toAppearance-> Widget.
Drag and Drop any widget from below three widget to Business Page Sidebar
Click Save ”

The problem is when you follow these instructions the “Home” page does not show up in the drop down menu for the static front page.

Also I’m reticent to create a new home page because I don’t want to lose the slider, custom header, tagline (slogan) etc.
